And guess what, kooky Val updated her kooky website just in time for me to write my 100th post on this here blog.

This time she proves that despite claiming to be an adult that she doesn't have the reading comprehension level of the average 12 year old. In response to Roger's Cable announcing today that they will be carrying HowardTV (Howard Stern's On Demand channel), Val writes:
"June 7: Rogers Cable has announced it will carry Howard TV. They're also going to censor it to conform to Canadian broadcasting standards."

Here's the actual quote from Rogers website (I've highlighted the key words to help the reading impaired uber right wing conservative nut jobs):

Q. Is Howard Stern really uncensored?
A.The Howard Stern episodes are all available in the original format provided to Rogers. This means nudity, swearing and other mature dialogue and situations will be shown with no overt censorship. Please note that if a program fails to meet Canadian Broadcast Standards due to abusive comments or undue discrimination or for another legal reason which fails a Canadian Broadcast Standard - Rogers will be forced to remove the affected episode.
So as long as nothing in the episode hits the level of hate speech, they will be completely uncensored. And given that nothing on the show ever hits the level necessary to be legally deemed hate speech, even with Canada's incredibly conservative definition of what is and isn't, I can't see any episode ever getting pulled. But hey, nice try at raining on people's parades Val.

Kids' WB! On The CW Announces 2006-2007 Saturday Morning Programming Schedule

Someone please take the crack pipe away from whatever writer came up with this concept and whatever executive gave it the go ahead:

Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get A Clue!, 10:00-10:30 am: Ruh-roh! Everybody's favorite quivering sleuths -- Shaggy and his lovable Great Dane, Scooby-Doo -- are back in a new adventure that will anchor the "Too Big For Your TV" programming block. In this comedy from Warner Bros. Animation, Shaggy and Scooby live in the bling'd-out mansion of Shaggy's Uncle Albert, solving mysteries with the help of a transforming Mystery Machine which, at the click of a remote, can morph into one of a number of modes of transportation. New Scooby Snacks infused with a top-secret nano-technology allows our canine hero to fly, become a towering robot or even turn himself into a giant magnet, which comes in handy as Shaggy and Scooby-Doo carry out their new mission: protecting the Scooby Snacks and keeping them safe from those who want them for evil.

If My Child Was Born on 06-06-06...

A number of panicked Christian ladies across America are scheduled to give birth on June 6th, 2006. This date raises concern among church members since the numbers of that day also identify the son of Satan, the "Beast" from the book of Revelation. No decent, Christian family wants the little red bottom of the devil's spawn perched on a limb of their family tree, taking a dump on the branches below, much less sitting in a high-chair at the dinner table listening in on family prayers while quietly finalizing plans to sodomize mommy with the family vacuum. As such, Landover Baptist Creation Scientists have put together a checklist of recommended actions one should take if their baby is being born or was born on 06-06-06.

Hey RIAA morons, music videos are supposed to be used to promote an artist. Tech savvy consumers with disposable income are the customers you should be cultivating, not trying to piss off whenever possible, so just let the kids watch music videos on the internet, what really is the harm?

On the mend

For anyone who cares, the thing on my leg has mostly healed. I pulled out an inch of packing on Saturday and the last inch and a half or so just fell out by itself. The incision seems to be closing up on its own fairly nicely and should be completely closed off in a couple more days. I'm just using a single pad of gauze folded into a square and held in place with a large bandage now, as opposed to the several layers of gauze held in place with tape I had to use for the first few days after the surgery due to the amount of fluid I was leaking.

My first of two dentist appointments is at 8am. Joy. Next one is at 8am next Wednesday.

FUCK!

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!

Fuck!

I'm just going to go crawl under a rock for a while. Someone let me know when all the retards have managed to kill themselves and it's safe to come out. Some moron just proved yet again that driving is far to complicated of a task for the average mouthbreather. I was stopped, something I generally do whenever all the cars in front of me are stopped. He decided that he didn't want to be like everyone else and just kept right on driving. Sigh. At least he was kind enough to slow down enough that he only destroyed my bumper so I won't be having yet another car written off due to a rear ender. Yay, I love dealing with our friendly neighbourhood insurance monopoly.

Yay for me!

Yep, this week just keeps getting better and better.

Just got home from my dentist's office after finding out I have 6 cavities. Six fucking cavities. I brush twice a day, floss after every meal and mouthwash damn near every time I wander into the bathroom and I still have 6 fucking cavities I need to have filled. I might as well just give up buying toothpaste, floss and mouthwash. The money saved would probably pay for the work I'd just end up needing done anyway.

Updates

Still continuing to work at arranging things in a way that I like. I've taken 3 cracks now at designing a header graphic and I think I'm finally happy with this one. I believe all the links are working, if someone spots one that isn't please let me know.

The leg continues to heal. I've pulled a few inches of the packing material out of it so far and it's bleeding far less today than it has been all week. I believe I have now managed to yank all the hairs from that portion of my leg.

Val Smith is still a kook, but at least she doesn't seem to be updating her kooky web page very often anymore.

Renovations

I'm trying out a slightly different format for the blog. The previous template I was using just seemed like it was wasting so much screen space with nothingness. Don't get me wrong, I prefer a streamlined design over some of the cluttered monstrosities that people call webpages these days, but I believe it's possible to use all the screen space available and remain uncluttered. I'll be tweaking things over the next few days, maybe adding a few bells and whistles. Let me know what you think.
