Here we go again....

Iran: Nuclear program is 'irreversible'

"Iran's foreign ministry spokesman on Sunday declared that the country's controversial nuclear program is "irreversible."

"We are determined not to give up our rights to nuclear energy, and suspension of relevant activities is not on our agenda," said spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi. "The issue is irreversible.""

I can think of a 50 megaton solution that would reverse their nuclear program pretty fuckin' quickly. Iran's goal is clearly the creation of a nuclear weapons. They are sitting on top of one of the largest oil reserves in the world and have zero reason to be developing nuclear reactors for energy. Developing nuclear weapons would be in conflict with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran did sign, as well as numerous UN Security Council resolutions warning them against developing a nuclear program. There is no reason for any country to posses nuclear arms, let alone some third world theocratic dictatorship run by a power hungry madman. Pakistan has openly admitted that one of their scientists sold the plans to a nuclear weapon to Iran which clearly shows that their intentions aren't purely civil. If ever their was a correct time for a coalition of nations to come together to slap a rogue nation back into line this is it. Other nations simply can't be allowed to develop nuclear arsenals, and those that have them should be dismantling theirs at a much faster pace. The world simply can't take a wait and see approach until Iran has a nuclear weapon, because then it's to late and they will use it to hold another country hostage.

Purported bin Laden tape denounces West's response to Hamas

"A newly broadcast audiotape believed to be from Osama bin Laden slams the West for cutting off funds to the Palestinian Hamas-led government and calls on al Qaeda followers to fight a proposed international force in Sudan.

In the tape, aired Sunday in part on Arabic-language TV network Al-Jazeera, the speaker repeatedly blasts a "crusader-Zionist war" against Islam, citing other activities in Chechnya and Somalia."

Well there's a shocker, Al-Jazeera acting as the mouthpiece for a terrorist organization, sigh. Just so you guys know, a crazed madman sending out an audiotape isn't a news story, there isn't really a need to report on it. If I recorded a tape calling out the government of western nations would it get nonstop play on Al-Jazeera? I have my doubts. Don't give this kook the time of day either. He's living in a cave somewhere Obi Wan Kenobi style and has clearly lost touch with reality.

"On the tape, bin Laden says "the opposition to the Hamas government is proof of the crusade against Muslims.""

Or maybe, just maybe, it's proof of a crusade against TERRORISTS. Why do these maroons always have to make it a religious thing? If a bunch of Jews started walking into Arab coffee shops with 30lbs of dynamite strapped to themselves, I highly doubt the rest of the world would say that they were any less than a bunch of terrorist nut jobs.

"Several Democratic U.S. lawmakers on Sunday pointed to the tape as a sign that the Bush administration has wasted efforts in Iraq instead of adequately cracking down on al Qaeda. "

Well that's a blindingly obvious statement isn't it.

Scientists find secret to gas-free beans

I can't tell you how thankful I am that their are scientists out there working feverishly to solve important problems like this. Thank you so much for not putting your time into worthless pursuits like curing diseases and ending famine.
